E’ uscito il 26 febbraio “Dark Flavour”, il nuovo album di Alessandro Lanzoni, pianista fiorentino con già importanti esperienze alle spalle nonostante la giovane età.
Dark Flavour è pubblicato dalla CAM Jazz, nella serie CAM Jazz presents, dedicata ai nuovi talenti del jazz, non solo italiano.
L’album si muove luminoso, con episodi ora lirici ora ritmati, e testimonia la crescente maturità espressiva del giovane pianista, qui sostenuto dalla ritmica efficace di Matteo Bortone al contrabbasso ed Enrico Morello alla batteria.
Sei delle 11 tracce che compongono l’album sono firmate da Lanzoni, che dimostra così ottime doti anche di compositore –su tutti il brano che dà il titolo al disco-, un brano è a firma del contrabbassista Matteo Bortone, e sono presenti anche inedite riletture di J.Coltrane e di T.Monk.
I componenti del trio si sono incontrati ai seminari di Siena Jazz nel 2011 dove immediatamente è scattata l’intesa ed è quindi nato Dark Flavour.
Dopo alcune date a febbraio Lanzoni presenterà l’album dal vivo ad aprile.On February 26 “Dark Flavour” was released, the new album of Alessandro Lanzoni, a Florentine pianist with already many important experiences gained despite his young age. Dark Flavour has been produced by CAM Jazz, and is part of the series CAM Jazz Presents, dedicated to new Italian and foreign jazz talents. The Album has luminous contests with both lyric and rhythmic episodes and it shows the growing expressive maturity of the young pianist, here strengthened by the effective rhythm of Matteo Bortone on double bass and Enrico Morello at the drums. Six of the eleven tracks of the album are by Lanzoni, and they show his great talent also as a composer, of which the most significant “ Dark Flavour”, is also the name of the Album. One track is by the bass player Matteo Bortone, and there are also unreleased re-readings by J. Coltrane e di T. Monk. The members of the Trio met at the seminars of Siena Jazz in 2011 and an immediate understanding kicked off and so Dark Flavour was born.
