Il 2013 è stato un anno intenso e ricco di soddisfazioni per Alessandro Lanzoni, 21enne pianista fiorentino ancora giovanissimo ma con esperienze già molto importanti.

Per prima cosa  la pubblicazione di Dark Flavour, secondo album da leader e primo  in trio con Matteo Bortone (contrabbasso) ed Enrico Morello (batteria). Nell’album Alessandro affronta  standards di Monk (Crepuscule With Nellie e Bright Mississippi), Coltrane (Satellite)  per poi dispiegare tutto il suo talento nelle proprie composizioni come Dark Flavour, Levra e Anatolio, tenendo sempre un occhio attento sulla tradizione ma guardando oltre.

Il tour di Dark Flavour lo ha portato ad esibirsi nelle maggiori città italiane ed in alcune trasmissioni su Radio 3. A luglio in occasione di Siena Jazz poi l’esibizione a fianco di grandi musicisti americani come Ambrose Akinmusire,  Jeff Ballard, Larry Grenadier,  Ben Street,  Steven Bernstein, e Miguel Zenon.

Infine  la collaborazione con il New Blood Quartet di Aldo Romano, con il disco New Blood, omaggio a  The Connection di Freddie Redd, pubblicato dalla Dreyfus Jazz, con il quale ha suonato a Parigi ed in altre città francesi.

A coronamento di questo anno straordinario arriva la vittoria come Miglior Nuovo Talento  al Top Jazz 2013 di Musica Jazz.

Alessandro verrà premiato il 1 gennaio 2014 presso il Teatro Mancinelli di Orvieto nella consueta serata di Umbria Jazz Winter dedicata ai vincitori del Top Jazz.

1 marzo – Firenze, Pinocchio jazz

3 marzo –  Ferrara, Torrione

14 marzo –  Roma, Music Inn

4 maggio – Catania, Jazz Club Caltagirone2013 has been an intense year, full of personal satisfaction for Alessandro Lanzoni, 21 year old Florentine pianist, still amazingly young but already with many very important experiences to his credit. The first event was the release of Dark Flavour, his second album as leader and first as member of the Trio together with Matteo Bortone (double bass) and Enrico Morello (drums).In the album Alessandro contends with the standards of Monk (Crepuscule With Nellie and Bright Mississippi), Coltrane (Satellite ) to then deploy all his talent in his own compositions such as Dark Flavour, Levra and Anatolio, always keeping a close eye on tradition but at the same time looking further ahead.

His tour using the music from Dark Flavour, has given him the opportunity to perform in the most important Italian cities and in some transmissions on Radio 3. In July at the Siena Jazz Festival he had the opportunity to perform alongside great American musicians such as Ambrose, Akinmusire, Jeff Ballard, Larry Grenadier, Ben Street, Steven Bernstein e Miguel Zenon.

Finally, he performed with the New Blood Quartet of Aldo Romano on the record New Blood in honour of Freddie Redd’s The Connection, released by Dreyfus Jazz, with whom he played in Paris and other French cities.

The crowning achievement of this astonishing year was winning the prize of Best New Talent at Top Jazz 2013 of Musica Jazz.
Alessandro will receive the award winning prize on January 1 2014 at Teatro Mancinelli, Orvieto during the customary night of Umbria Jazz Winter, dedicated to the winners of Top Jazz.
